6'x6' Stage Scrims

My band is an awesome group, and we’re quickly growing and getting bigger shows – but we don’t have a stage backdrop or scrims. This problem resonates with us deeply, because we hear this problem from bands every day. Rock n’ roll bands always make a scene on stage – but what about your stage backdrop? Stage backdrops are a key factor in your stage presence, so it’s absolutely essential that you consider this inexpensive addition to your band at your shows. Here’s a solution to this problem.

Design Your Stage Backdrop The Right Way

Rock n’ roll bands often play in dark, dimly lit clubs and bars. The lighting on stage may or may not be adequate for your fans to make the small logo on your drum covers or bass heads, let alone a stage backdrop. Mendy, the band backdrops and stage scrims specialist has the following recommendations to make sure your stage backdrop makes a difference:

  • Bright colors vs. Pastel Colors
  •  Size And Design Of Logo
  • Materials

Colors

With over a decade printing stage backdrops for bands and band scrims, we have seen a lot of artwork from bands across the spectrum of the music industry in the US and Canada. The number one no-no is pastel colors, in our view: pastel colors like pink, grey and green are colors that blend in with each other. A stage backdrop that is designed with soft colors will NOT make an impact in your audience’s eyes, since all your artwork will blend in their eyes.

Always make sure your stage backdrop contains bright colors that contrast sharply with each other. This will ensure that your logo POPS in any venue.

Logo

The logo size is another super-critical aspect in your stage backdrop. If the logo is too small and is surrounded by busy artwork, it will get lost in your audience’s eyes. We’ve seen too many pieces of artwork that look fantastic in theory, but unfortunately do not make a mark in your fan’s eyeballs.

The logo or the name of the band should therefore always be front and center, and the design should be minimal so your design PUSHES the logo into your fan’s eyeballs.

Materials

Get the right material. There are various materials that we can print on, but for the most part, we recommend 70/30-vinyl mesh. This is a fantastic material in that it both holds colors really well, it is very rugged and it’s light for easy travel on tours. For 90 percent of the bands we have worked with in the last decade, they have found this material to be the ideal choice for stage backdrops. It will print beautifully with your artwork and provide your band with the best bang for your buck.

We also offer a beautiful 13 oz. Solid vinyl, which is heavier than the vinyl mesh but it is a solid material. In terms of fabric materials, we can print band backdrops on dye sublimated poly poplin. This is a stunning fabric that prints artwork with excellent color reproduction. There are other materials and plenty of finishings too to make it easy to set up your stage backrop.
